Love the Chase: Aligning Training With Your Dog’s Prey Instincts

Sunday, March 9th, 10:00am - 12:30pm

Does your dog’s training fly out the window when critters appear, leaving food and toys ignored? Instead of battling your dog’s natural prey instinct, this workshop will teach you how to work with it. You’ll learn to transform their focus on distractions into a fun, shared activity by creatively presenting rewards and partnering with your dog in what excites them most. Embrace their instincts and build a stronger connection!

Learning Objectives

  1. Explore how your dog’s natural instincts and genetics shape their reactions to the world around them.

  2. How to add value to your existing reward systems, such as treats & toys ,in the presence of competing motivators.

  3. Knowing and recognizing how to support your dog in different situations to achieve desired outcomes.

  4. Recognizing your dog’s body language through the stages of the chase

  5. Learn training games that put you at the center of your dog’s favorite hunting activities
