What is Rally Obedience?
Rally Obedience is a fun dog sport that refines your dog's engagement with you, enhances their ability to follow complex cues, and improves their skills such as heeling/leash walking, coming when called, and more. It also gives you, the human handler, the opportunity to practice your clear communication and navigating a course of challenges in partnership with your dog.
Rally Obedience works on refining many important, real-life skills for your dog, including:
Leash walk in heel position by your side
Stay in position when directed
Respond to cues promptly and consistently
Come when called & sit in front
Complete many cues in a sequence between rewards
Listen to your directions as you navigate a series of challenges as a team - like you do together in real life!

Our classes use the American Kennel Club’s Rally Obedience structure. Having a goal for competition is never a requirement for attending our Rally classes - many of our Rally students use their Rally practice solely to improve their training for their real-life goals and have fun with their dogs!

Level 2 Class Graduation with Summit - You must complete at least one Level 2 class within our program before advancing to Level 3 Intro to Rally Obedience class. This is to set all of our students up for success and allow our Rally Obedience classes to be focused on advanced skills. We recommend Level 2 Loose Leash Walking as our favorite class for setting you and your dog up for the most Rally success!
If you believe that you and your dog warrant an exception to this policy based on your previous training together, please contact us before enrolling in a Rally Obedience class to obtain instructor approval!
Our Rally Obedience Program is offered in several classes:
You must complete the Rally class levels in order from left to right, starting with Intro to Rally Obedience.
INTRO TO RALLY OBEDIENCE
Intro to Rally Obedience is a Level 3 class at Summit - you can join this class after graduating from at least one of our Level 2 classes (we recommend Level 2 Loose Leash Walking as a great foundation!). Intro to Rally Obedience teaches the dog and human foundation skills for Rally as you and your dog get hooked on this fun activity!
4 Weeks - $195
Rally Novice
Rally Novice is a Level 4 class at Summit - you can join this class after graduating from Intro to Rally! Rally Novice continues to build on the foundation you learned in Intro to Rally as you learn the complete set of the Novice course signs, and introduces the first components of Rally Advanced skills.
6 Weeks - $275
Rally Advanced+
Rally Advanced+ builds the skills you've been developing throughout Rally Novice! You will continue to refine and polish you and your dog's skills to master the Rally Advanced level signs, through running full courses and troubleshooting challenges. Rally Advanced+ continues to review and improve on skills covered in previous Rally levels, while also introducing the Excellent course signs. Students training at this level are encouraged to repeat this class as desired.
