Workshops for Level 1 & Level 2 Skills
This workshop is all about teaching our dogs Snake Avoidance using positive reinforcement! You will learn about snake safety & behavior, teaching an alert behavior, turning the sight, scent and sound of a snake into cues for a reliable recall & alert!
Level 1 Workshop
This workshop combines online learning and hands-on practice. Online, you’ll learn about rattlesnakes in the state of Colorado including snake behavior, what to do if you find one, and how to avoid them. Work your way up to Week 3 material in the online classroom before your in-person workshop date. For the in-person workshop, you'll bring your dog and practice training avoidance & alert skills (introduced online) with rattlesnake scent, sight, and sound.
Level 2 Workshop
This workshop provides a snake avoidance refresher and takes those Level 1 skills to the next level, working in more difficult outdoor environments (weather permitting) with different advanced presentations of the snake cue. For graduates of previous Level 1 Snake Avoidance Workshop and classes ONLY. If you haven't taken the Level 1 Snake Avoidance Workshop yet, start there! (You can pre-register for Level 2 if you are also signed up for a Level 1 this spring).
